2018 is going to go down as the most boring year for smartphone tech. Don’t get me wrong, kudos to Samsung for bringing the specs with the Note 9. But everyone else just wanted to notch it up. In a move to copy Apple, uuuhh, utilize more screen, the notch design made for an uninspiring year for tech.

But the year is not over yet, we still have 3 more months left. Plus we have to give it to a couple of companies out there. Not everyone was looking to be the same. Kudos to Vivo and Oppo for attempting to do something different.

We have another gaming phone on the horizon. The Nextbit Robin transformed gaming phone will be getting a sequel. Of course we are talking about the Razer. The phone with the 120 Hz refresh rate that set the community on fire last winter, will be looking to do it again.

This year they actually have an opportunity to truly make some waves. The Razer did well, considering the late release and little advertisement. If they are able to get that camera to flagship levels, this could be this year’s sleeper.

The Pixel 3 (XL) is gearing up for a disappointment, people aren’t ready to cough up $1000 to Samsung, this leaves room for a manufacturer to scoop up phone buyers. Price this phone right, and Razer could be a household name.
