Facebook has been at the center of attention in ways that they are not liking. Since the news of privacy invasion, it has been all downhill. Now it seems like people are piling on Facebook.

The piling on Facebook begins

I am not a fan or opponent of Facebook but both the user and the social media company shares responsibility for what takes place on the site.

The recent act of Facebook giving data to a company for political gain is where Facebook failed their user base. They violated the trust of their members and they deserve all the backlash as a result.

 Let the change begin

Celebrities are deleting their FB pages and calling for the deletion of Facebook. People want answers. Like Facebook, Twitter, IG, Google, and Apple are all piling up data on their servers. Social media companies going forward have to be transparent about how they use our data.

Members should know about any data collected such as location, Wifi info, or ISP and any information collected should be protected under lock and key with sharing turned off by default. No company may use any personal data without the user’s consent.

I am not against the piling on. Definitely not saying people should delete their page. It is time to educate about what Facebook knows and what you can do to stop it.
