The new year is less than a few days away and with the coming year bring excitement about new phones and tech. Here are the phones I’m most looking forward to in 2020 and the phones I’m not.
The first phone I’m most excited about seeing is the second iteration of the Galaxy Fold. Samsung took a gamble last year and some would say that they lost. But though it was a device that proved to be fragile, almost everyone who had a chance to put their hands on one was excited about the future. We know Samsung is going to learn from this and again lead the future of phone tech to a new horizon. And with leaked photos showing a phone that could mirror the Moto Razr 2020, this phone may garner more sales.
The second phone I’m looking forward to is the next One Plus Pro. One Plus put out one of the best phones in 2019 and they have been on an upward trajectory for the past few years. Given their phones are more affordable customers actually are getting the most bang for their buck. My only issue remains them undercutting their Spring release with Fall phones that are slightly better. Other than that I find myself enjoying using One Plus phones. And still, regret selling my One Plus 7 Pro to buy the Pixel 4XL.
The third phone will be the Samsung Galaxy Note 11. Samsung continues to make their Note line their premium line which they seem to spare no expense creating. I want to see what innovations they bring to the 2020 Note line of phones.
The phone I’m not looking forward to in 2020 is the Google Pixel 5 and 5XL. It’s sad when people are starting to get more excited about the mid-tier phones versus the flagships. Google just has continued to underwhelm with their Pixel phones and finally, the community is no longer giving them any slack. Voted the most disappointing phone of 2019 for Marques Brownlee’s phone awards, this just mirrored how the community felt.
Coming from a site whose title was inspired by Google phones, I never thought I would get to this point. But as far as I’m concerned if Google doesn’t care to put out a worthy flagship, then I don’t care about the phone. Plus I’ve just given up on inspecting Google to get it together. In fact, I wish they would just bring back Google Play Edition phones. Though getting a lot of your major manufacturers, like Samsung, to join in would be almost impossible.
What phones are you looking forward to in 2020 and which are you not?
