Wild card round

(6) Colts at (3) Texans (-2.5) – Sat., Jan. 5, 4:35 p.m. ET (ESPN)

I think this one will be pretty close. Divisional rivalry, third matchup of the season. I really, and I mean really like how Luck and the Colts have been playing. Texans started off 0-3 and ended up winning the South still. I’m doing the Luck kool-aid, he’s back ladies and gentlemen. I got the Colts winning narrowly, 27-21.

(5) Seahawks at (4) Cowboys (-2.5) – Sat., Jan. 5, 8:15 p.m. ET (NBC)

I think I am too confident in Russell Wilson but I can’t find myself picking in  any direction but the Seahawks. They have the playoff experience at coach and quarterback and that is major. Jason Garrett will go back to being conservative and I think the Seahawks defense can contain the Cowboys offense enough to steal a road win. 28-17.

(5) Chargers at (4) Ravens (-2.5) – Sun., Jan. 6, 1:05 p.m. ET (CBS)

This is an easy pick for me. First, Top 10 defense versus a rookie. I do not see that going very well. Secondly, I don’t see Baltimore catching them twice. Last and most importantly… Chargers are my pick to win it all. It won’t be easy but i love Rivers, 22-19.

(6) Eagles at (3) Bears (-6) – Sun., Jan.6, 4:40 p.m. ET (FOX)

Nick Foles has a ribs injury at the moment. Super Bowl darling not 100% and he’s going to be attacked all night. I’m not a big believer in Tribusky yet but he doesn’t have to do much. The defense is going to generate points and field position. The Bears! 30-14

Divisional round

(6) Colts at (1) Chiefs (-6.5) – Sat., Jan. 12, 4:35 p.m. ET (NBC)

Andy Reid has two weeks to scheme. Chiefs are rested after the bye and ready to go. I don’t see very many stops this game. I expect over 10 touchdowns. This is Mahomes, and Chiefs do… score, I got them winning 48-40.

(3) Bears at (2) Rams (-3.5) – Sat., Jan. 12, 8:15 p.m. ET (FOX)

This will be a rematch of a game that the Bears destroyed Goff and the Rams. This time though the game is in sunny California. Which pays dividends for the home squad. I think it is gonna be a struggle for them to get points but I don’t think Chicago will get alot either. I am taking the Rams though, 17-13.

(5) Chargers at (2) Patriots (-6) – Sun., Jan. 13, 1:05 p.m. ET (CBS)

I bet Philip Rivers is licking his chops. Get to go back to Foxboro and finally top Brady and Belichick. I cannot believe I am going to do this. I am going to pick against the Patriots. Time has passed and I believe it belongs to the Chargers. Fun game goes to L.A., 33-31.

(5) Seahawks at (1) Saints (-7.5) – Sun., Jan. 13, 4:40 p.m. ET (FOX)

Saints at home with a bye week. That is not good for Seattle. That defense ain’t what it used to be and Brees can get up and down the field in a hurry. Wilson just doesn’t have the weapons to go toe to toe with them. Geez, I wish they did though. Saints win 34-20.

Championship round

(5) Chargers at Chiefs (-5) – Sun., Jan. 20, TBD (CBS)

This is definitely one of the games I am wishing for. Two high scoring AFC rivals for a 3rd time for a shot at a big game… epic. I believe a lot of points will get put on the board. Whoever has the ball last wins. I think the Chiefs horrid defense will be the reason they are going home. Rivers is going to go right down the field and get his first trip to the Super Bowl. Chargers 40-34.

(3) Bears at (1) Saints (-4.5) – Sun., Jan. 20, TBD (FOX)

This will a battle of strengths, high octane offense vs smothering defense. If this game was in Chicago I would pick them. Unfortunately, for the Bears and their fans the game is down in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. They do not lose there very often, and it is the biggest game of the season. Those fans are gonna be so loud, I think the Bears offense will struggle to keep up. Saints are marching on, 27-17.

Super Bowl LIII

Chargers vs. Saints (-4.5) – Feb. 3, 2019, (CBS)

If you LOVE points, offense, and touchdown galore… this is probably the game for you. I think this will be a Super Bowl to remember. Brees was a Charger and Rivers looking to cement his Hall of Fame career, some good storylines. With all that being said, I am sticking firm to my pick. Rivers is one of my favorite quarterbacks ever so I have a little heart in this pick. It is his time, he will win the MVP and have a stellar game. Brees of course is going to put up numbers, but I think the Chargers defense is good enough to make a key stop. Rivers finally gets his ring. Chargers, 37-32.
