Back in March I predicted that the name may be pie, and since then found myself calling it everything else, including peppermint. But now the day is here and if you own a Pixel, Pixel 2, or Essential Phone you can officially have some Pie, as the official build 9.0 has been released.
This is much earlier than I predicted, as I was not expecting it for another month, but Google must have felt confident enough in the stability of the previews to warrant an official release. With Pie, you can also check out Digital Well-Being, Google’s solution they discussed back at I/O to get people off their phones and back into the world.
So if you have an eligible phone (Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2, Pixel 2XL, and Essential Phone) head over to settings and check for an update. I’ve already updated my Pixel 2XL and Pixel to the final build. Also be sure to check out some of my earlier posts on the previews as I discuss how to turn on gesture settings as well as the new features (ie battery percentage on lock screen) that were added.
