Big news out of the Google camp that they will be acquiring Typhoon Studios, a gaming studio out if Montreal. In an effort to beef their gaming platform, Google chose a company made up of former EA, WB Games, and Ubisoft employees. Typhoon studios are known for Journey to the Savage Planet.

Though this will help Google with putting out exclusive titles for Stadia, the only game I am seeing that Typhoon made is Savage Planet and that will be released early next year. But they do have developers involved in a number of projects including Far Cry. Question is if this is going to really turn into something worth getting excited about, or if this is just a move to try a quiet the critics?

No matter how people may feel about Stadia, Google is making some moves. Time will tell if those moves pan out.
