There currently are 3 big movies playing this weekend in Bumblebee, Spider-man: Into the Spider-verse, and Aquaman. You only have so much money to go around, and you desire to see one movie. So which movie should you see?

  1. Aquaman: I am not choosing this movie because it is “better” than “Into the Spider-verse”. I am choosing it because “Into the Spider-verse” was released last week. If all things were equal, I would have chosen it for the top spot. But as it is, I would suggest check out Aquaman. DC really did a better job with this movie, than their past few movies. We finally have a movie that really focuses on the world and story of the hero, versus trying to build into a Justice League. The colors, humor, and world will grab your interest for the entire time. This movie may bring some bit of hope back to the DCEU.Screen Shot 2018-12-20 at 8.51.55 PM
  2. Spider-man: Into the Spider-verse: This is easily the best movie out this weekend. I would not look down on a person who chose to watch this movie again, versus the other two. Even though this is animation, it is worth checking out on the big screen. This movie is currently sitting at 97% on Rotten Tomatoes, and for good reason. This movie is suitable for all ages, with enough story and humor for the youngest to the oldest. Screen Shot 2018-12-20 at 8.52.53 PM
  3. Bumblebee: I give this movie credit for trying to do something different from the Michael Bay films, and it did that. This movie had more story, better visuals, and avoided all of the tropes known from the other Transformers movies. With all that said, this movie should have been released a few weeks back. Coming off of the other movies, this one felt sort of like it should have been made available through Netflix. I just can not recommend this movie when the other two are available. For those not wanting to see “a cartoon” at the theater, they have Aquaman. But for those with a group of younger kid, or a young child who may get scared easily, they can enjoy Spider-man: into the Spider-verse. This movie gets left out because yes it is a better Transformer movie, but it is not the best movie out this weekend. In fact, I personally would have been ok if I waited until this hit Netflix to watch this, versus watching this at a theater.

The family is in town, it’s the holidays, and a good movie can add to the mood. And there are a number of big movies that have been released for the holidays, some that I have not even listed above. So grab the fam, go to your favorite theater, snag some popcorn, and enjoy.
