Everyone (or should I say every company) wants to become the next “Netflix”. This mad push to become like the streaming giant is causing companies to pursue radical ideas. And one company is AT&T. With it’s newly acquired company, Time Warner, and its asset HBO, the bosses of AT&T are looking to make it the next Netflix.
HBO already have its fair share of original content including the ever popular series Game of Thrones, Ballers, NFL Hard Knocks, and more. Reportedly the bosses at AT&T will look to expand their original content selection. Add to that net neutrality is dead. AT&T will find ways to bring in their wireless customers by either offering HBO as a promo, zero data streaming service when paired with a certain phone plan, or offer it as a package where customers can bundle and save when added to DirecTV Now and a wireless plan.
What are your thoughts about what AT&T is looking to do with HBO?
