We have come a long way with 3D printing to the point we are see industries look to that technology for manufacturing parts. Never could I have imagined the technology be used to build a house. Maybe parts for the house but not the house in general.
ICON, out of Austin Texas, showed off the first 3D printed house. The remarkable feat is that is was able to be done in a day. Where most houses take months or even years, 3D printing is changing how long it would take to get a family into a home.
Right now I would think this would be a concept idea as I am sure there are a number of safety concerns and fire codes that would have to be complied with before this could even be considered livable in the States. But this could definitely find a market in countries where the codes are less stringent.
